Megan Haslam is a product of Utah Career & Technical Education, having taken courses in every CTE area offered at her high school. She chose to specialize in Agricultural Education and has been teaching now for eight years. She is currently teaching Agricultural Education courses, specializing in Animal Science & Plant Science at Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum, Cache County School District. Megan is also a Co-Advisor of the Mountain Crest FFA chapter. In her spare time, you can find her reading, riding horses, gardening, crafting, and spending time with family & friends. While teaching, Megan has made a point to actively serve in professional organizations including serving as Utah Association of Agricultural Educators (UAAE) Secretary- Elect, Secretary, and is currently serving as President; in addition to serving on the UACTE Board since 2013. She has also participated on the Utah FFA Advisory Board for four years. On the local level, her service includes: eight years on County Jr. Livestock committees, PLC team leader, & high school insurance committee representative Along with attending every Mid-Winter & Summer Conference since she became a teacher, Megan has presented on multiple topics at both conferences. Camaraderie, connecting, and idea sharing are the main reasons she enjoys Mid-winter & Summer conferences and will continue to participate in both. If elected as UACTE President-Elect, Megan’s focus this year would be advocacy by “Telling Your Story” to stakeholders as we all need to actively share in the work of promoting Career & Technology Education.
